Waka on Avon - Kaitiaki

Your 45-minute experience includes:

• Official welcome (mihi whakatau)
• Step into the role of kaitiaki (guardian)
• Guided waka paddle on the Ōtākaro, Avon River
• Learn about local matauranga and see restoration work your visit supports

Important: A minimum of 4 people is required to paddle our waka. If minimum numbers are not met, we will contact you within 24 hours of your tour time to reschedule. For groups of 30 or more, please email info@wakaonavon.co.nz.

Children
An adult must be selected before adding a child or infant. We require a minimum supervision ratio of 1 adult to 2 children under 5, and 1 adult to 3 children aged 5–15. All children aged 15 and under must wear a life jacket. Life jackets are provided.
